Shelf tags will vary from store to store as well as within store departments, but below are some examples of common shelf tag attributes …

1. Department – What store department the item belongs in.
2. SKU – Stocking keep Unit, AKA “Item Number” within the store chain.
3. Item Description Code – Item description code for that item.
4. UPC - Universal product code.
5. Tag Date – When the tag was created / price of product was last updated.
6. Facing # - Number of facings the product should have on the shelf or display.
7. Modular location – Dept. section location #.
8. Item Size – Size of the item, (IE: ounces, pounds, or quantity).
